Is Steroid Guru Daniel Duchaine Burning In Hell Right Now?

    Printer-Friendly Format

The last article ever written by the author of "The Underground Steroid Handbooks" was geared toward children. It taught them to take massive doses of testosterone for their first steroid cycle. Many believe that Dan died a mysterious death. Did God allow Dan Duchaine to suffer the consequences of his actions?

Dan Duchaine flaunts his rebellion in his book Body opus on page 13 by saying: "As an authority on steroid use, I take the bad guy part."

"Suffice to say most of the technology in use today by bodybuilders preparing for a contest --how they use their drugs, how they get them, and all that really bad stuff -- is in large part due to Dan." - John Romano, Muscular Development, April 2000, page 170

"My boyfriends were always huge fans of Muscle Media (Muscle Missions Note: Duchaine wrote articles for Muscle Media magazine.), and they practically treated every word written by the Steroid Guru as gospel."  - Shelley Hominuk, Ironman Magazine, April 2000, Page 170

"He used to say a lot of off-the-wall stuff in his book and articles but a lot of young kids reading his material didn't know that." - John Balik, Steroids Kill, Page 135

The following is an excerpt from the last article Dan Duchaine ever wrote:

Dick and Jane's first steroid -- by Dan Duchaine

After a certain amount of time in this "lifestyle", most bodybuilders wake up and smell reality, and move onto the next phase of their life.  The subculture only survives because there's always a new generation of anxious adolescent boys to take their place.  The bodybuilding ranks are continually replenished by insecure little boys who want to scare their friends (and enemies) and be a sex object for desirable women.

Duchaine then goes on to recklessly tell his young and naive readers what drug to take and how to take it.

To the right is a photo of the front cover from one of the books in the Dick and Jane series. The Dick and Jane book series that Duchaine borrows the title from for his steroid article were used as school textbooks to teach children how to read.  The books taught strong family values such as sharing, family interaction, responsibility, health, safety and helping others.

"For years it was ugly for Dan.  Always, it seemed to me, his soul was in torment, in constant turmoil.  Dan had always danced on the edge of a darker scheme. After his stroke in the early 90s he was never as sharp intellectually.  For months he couldn't talk intelligently, read or write.  It took years for him to regain his faculties." - David Jenkins, Ironman Magazine, April 2000, page 200

    The Bible tells us:

He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy. Proverbs 29:1 (KJV)

"Dan's passing makes us all realize that our days are numbered, and we must be careful not to let life slip past us." - Lisa Hutchins, Ironman Magazine, April 2000, Page 171

Here's what the Bible says about our days being numbered:

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27(KJV)

Industry consultant, Will Brink, wrote this on his web site:

"As for what happened to Dan, Dan died in his sleep at his apartment from what appears to be natural causes.  He was found Thursday, January 13th by his close friend Shelly Hominuk...Of course the rumor mill will try and place Dan's death on some more mysterious cause, but by all accounts, including both the police and coroner's report, Dan died of natural causes."

Given all of the drug books and articles that Dan Duchaine wrote over the years, that were read as if it were the gospel by hundreds of thousands of young boys and girls, I believe this to be a fitting biblical verse to study:

It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. Luke 17:2 (KJV)

Will Brink concluded on his web site with:

"Wherever you are Dan, I know you are making trouble and laughing at all of us."

PERHAPS NOT! Perhaps he is in hell where the Bible tells us:

There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, Luke 13:28(a)(KJV)

And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, Revelation 14:11(a)(KJV)
