Letter To Craig Titus and Kelly Ryan written January 27, 2009

    Printer-Friendly Format

Dear Craig and Kelly,                                                                             January 27, 2009

I have been in a dry place. It seems like months now but I'm sure it hasn't been that long. I am waiting for God to move on my behalf. You see... God led me to create a few videos delivering a message of repentance and of coming judgment against bodybuilders and those involved. The backlash I have been getting as a result has been almost unbearable. If it were not for my faith I would have crumbled.

It is simply amazing when you rely wholly on God's Word and use His Words to deliver a message, how rebellious the people become to that message. They don't want to hear it but God's Word promises that His Word will not be returned void.

People want their ears tickled. They want to hear how much money God's going to bless them with, how much better health they are going to have, etc. They don't want to hear about hell, judgment, Satan, sin, and the need for repentance.

But I will stand firm in this ministry that God has given me. I thank Him for it. And no man can tear it asunder unless God allows. Amen.

I pray that you find out what God has in store for your life. This is the time to discover that. I cannot stress enough the importance of reading the Authorized King James Version Bible. Do you have one? I will have one sent to you if you don't have one.

I once heard a great message that was given regarding the explosion of various cults that began popping up around the early 1900's. Many, many new bibles came about in the twentieth century. Here is a list although it is nowhere near complete:

1611 - King James Version (KJV) (also known as Authorized Version)
    1833 - Webster Bible (WEB)
    1862 - Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
1885 - English Revised Version (ERV)
1901 - American Standard Version (ASV)
    1924 - Moffatt's New Translation (MOF)
    1927 - Goodspeed Version (GSP)
1952 - Revised Standard Version (RSV)
1959 - Modern Language Bible (MLB) also known as New Berkley Version (NBV)
1961 - New World Translation (NWT)
1964 - The Amplified Bible (AMP)
1965 - Bible in Basic English (BBE)
1970 - New English Bible (NEB)
1970 - New American Bible (NAB)
1970 - Cotton Patch Version (CPV)
1971 - New American Standard Bible (NASB)
1971 - The Living Bible (LIV)
1974 - Good News Bible (GNB) also known as Todays English Version (TEV)
    1974 - Today's English Version (TEV)
1978 - New International Version (NIV)
1980 - Simple English Bible (SEV)
1982 - New King James Version (NKJV)
1985 - New Jerusalem Bible (NJB)
1986 - New Life Bible (NLB)
1989 - Revised English Bible (REB)
1989 - Jewish New Testament (JNT)
1990 - New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
1992 - Clear Word Bible (CWB)
    1993 - The Message (MSG)
    1994 - Twenty-First Century King James Version (KJ21)
1995 - Contemporary English Version (CEV)
    1995 - God's Word (GW)
    1996 - New International Reader's Version (NIrV)
1996 - New Living Translation (NLT)

Consider the wording in the 1970 Cotton Patch Version:

This guy John was dressed in blue jeans and a leather jacket, and he was living on corn bread and collard greens. Folks were coming to him from Atlanta and all over north Georgia and the backwater of the Chattahoochee. And as they owned up to their crooked ways, he dipped them in the Chattahoochee. - Matthew 3:4-6 (CPV)

Now compare that to the King James Version:

And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey. Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan, And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins. -Matthew 3:4-6 (KJV)

Let me remind you what God's Word has to say about changing His Word:

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. - Revelation 22:18-19 (KJV)

The translator of the Cotton Patch Version was a man named Clarence Jordan. He earned a Ph.D. in the Greek New Testament while attending Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky in 1938. He died suddenly at the age of 57 of a heart attack in 1969. He wrote most of the Cotton Patch version throughout the mid to late 1960's. The Cotton Patch bible version was published in 1968 - 1973.

I hope that from this little study you are able to see how Satan has been attempting to distort God's Word.

As a side note... in 1986, Joe Weider's Muscle & Fitness published an article titled, The Two-Stage Diet: Add mass; lose fat. The article included this distortion of biblical scripture:

What shall it profit a man, if he shall build a great physique, and lose the contest because he is fat? - Mark 8:36 (Published in Weider magazine)

    The King James Version reads:

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? - Mark 8:36 (KJV)

    with love,
    Dennis
