EVIL EMPIRE? Have The Efforts Of Joe And Ben Weider Been Blessed By The Devil Since 1936 Bringing Them Worldwide Fame And Untold Fortunes?

    Printer-Friendly Format

Here's hard documented evidence that the dark side has cursed the sport of bodybuilding since its beginnings producing the fruits of murder, mayhem, and death!

Blessings from the side of evil were given to Joe and Ben Weider's mother regarding their bodybuilding empire.

An article blasphemously titled "Upon This Rock" subtitled "How Joe and Ben Weider became the founding fathers of bodybuilding" written by Tim Hoxa appeared in the September 1995 issue of Flex Magazine providing the disturbing details.

Here are some excerpts from that article:

"He (Joe) dreamed of publishing his own fitness newsletter to promote the physical and psychological value of working out. But the Weiders' mother wasn't impressed by her elder son's conviction.

"The best thing for you to do is learn a trade," she admonished, "instead of growing up to be a bum." Mrs. Weider was so distraught she sought a fortune teller's advice, who predicted Joe would be a success and advised her to let the boy follow his dream. Mrs. Weider heeded the counsel, perhaps believing that a greater power guided her son's inspired, if unusual, actions.

So with a fortune teller's blessing, seven dollars in his pocket and a mimeograph machine, Joe began publishing YOUR PHYSIQUE..."

Fortune telling is a form of divination that is an attempt to foretell the unknown by occult means. Weiders mother sought the advice of a fortune teller to do exactly that...find out her sons unknown destiny in bodybuilding.

The Holy Bible commands us several times not to seek the advice of fortune tellers:

Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God. Leviticus 19:31 (KJV)

There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. Deuteronomy 18:10-12 (KJV)

And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people. Leviticus 20:6 (KJV)

When you examine the fruits of bodybuilding, all of the murder, death, and illness and when you look at the huge successful empire that the Weiders have built, it just doesn't seem right, does it? Unless bodybuilding did indeed receive its blessings from the dark side right from its official beginnings in 1936.

The sport of bodybuilding has had so many unnecessary deaths that even the mainstream magazine "Sports Illustrated" took notice and printed an article titled "The Muscle Murders" in their May 18, 1998 issue.

Shortly after the Sports Illustrated article appeared, Muscular Development magazine came out with their own article titled "The Bodybuilding Murders" in their October 1998 issue.

In that article, author Bob Lefavi asked the question: "But why do so many bodybuilders get in trouble with violent crimes? (I mean, how many big-time bodybuilders are there, anyway?) Other athletes use drugs. Overall, I'd bet that more people in the U.S. use anabolic-androgenic steroids for performance in football than for bodybuilding. Why don't we hear of track athletes, powerlifters, football and hockey players killing people during a drug induced rage?"

Lefavi then asked: "Will we ever know for a fact why bodybuilding has more than its fair share of violence and illicit behavior?"

The answer is a resounding "YES!" The reason? Because of the spiritual foundations that this sport was built on!

In that first copy of YOUR PHYSIQUE, Volume 1, Number 1, Joe Weider stated in his editorial: "We must preach body-building..."

Further, in the Upon This Rock article, Joe Weider is quoted as saying: "Developing my body by lifting weights and applying intelligent nutrition concepts to my life became something of a holy quest."

Joe Weider wrote in one of his editorials in  Muscle and Fitness, the May 1988 issue: "Bodybuilding is a spiritual experience that puts you in control of your life."

The Bible tells us that we can identify false prophets by the fruit that they produce.

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Matthew 7:15-20 (KJV)

Let's examine just a few of these fruits (all examples are of competitive bodybuilders):

    MURDER

Bertil Fox shot and killed both his girlfriend and her mother.

Ray McNeil shot and killed by bodybuilder wife Sally McNeil.

Gordon Kimbrough stabbed his fiancé bodybuilder, Kristy Ramsey then tried to kill himself.

    MAYHEM

Kenny "Flex" Wheeler suffered serious health problems and underwent a kidney transplant

Don Long both his kidneys were damaged. He underwent a kidney transplant.

Mike Matarazzo underwent a triple heart bypass operation at age 39.

Dennis Newman diagnosed with leukemia ten weeks after he won the NPC USA.

Paul Dillet went temporarily blind and his heart stopped beating for a full minute.

    DEATH

Mohammed "Momo" Benaziza died in his hotel room after competing in the Holland Grand Prix.

Andreas Munzer died of multiple organ failure 12 days after competing in the 1996 Arnold Classic.

Sonny Schmidt died a few short weeks after being diagnosed with cancer at the age of 50.

This is just a small example of an ever growing list!

The fruits of bodybuilding has produced murder, mayhem, and death. So I ask you, Do you think that this is a sport that was blessed by God or the devil?

Getting back to the title of the article, "Upon This Rock". There is more to this title than you may realize. Those words actually come from Jesus right out of the Bible. Jesus was referring figuratively of himself as being the foundation of the church when he was speaking to Peter.

Jesus Said: And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18 (KJV)

God's word tells us Jesus Christ is the only foundation!

For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
    1 Corinthians 3:11 (KJV)

Which foundation are you relying on? The one that God has laid? Or the one that Weider has laid?

    Jesus says:

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10 (KJV)

Will you reject the false teachings of Weider and choose a more abundant life by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?
